The short version. lokt has no account, no login, no servers, no analytics and no ads. Your calendar, your app choices and your focus history stay on your iPhone. We never see them, and we don't collect personal information through this website either.
lokt is an iPhone app and website (uselokt.com) operated by Aidan Stone in Missouri, United States ("lokt", "we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, email support@uselokt.com.
Everything below is stored only on your iPhone, inside lokt's own storage, and is never sent to us or to anyone else. lokt contains no third-party code (no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs) and makes no network requests of its own.
| What | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar events (titles, start and end times, which calendar) on the calendars you choose to include | To know when to lock your apps. lokt keeps a copy of roughly the next week of events so locks still fire when the app is closed. | Your iPhone only |
| The apps, categories and websites you pick to lock | To lock them. Apple gives lokt opaque tokens, not app names, so lokt itself cannot tell which apps you chose. | Your iPhone only |
| Screen Time usage summaries shown in the Progress tab | To show your focus progress. Apple draws these in a sealed extension that cannot send data anywhere, including to us. | Your iPhone only |
| Your lock rules, lock history and emergency unlocks | To run locks and show your progress. | Your iPhone only |
| Onboarding answers: an optional first name, what you want time for, rough phone-time estimates, what you have tried before | To personalize the app's text and estimates. | Your iPhone only |
On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, lokt uses Apple's on-device language model to suggest which event titles are focus time. The event title is processed on your iPhone. It is not sent to us. On other iPhones, lokt uses simple word matching instead.
lokt asks for Calendar access and Screen Time access. You can turn either off at any time in the iOS Settings app. lokt stops locking when you do.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email, Apple ID or payment details. Apple gives us aggregated sales reports and lets the app confirm whether your subscription is active.
If you turn on "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports and usage statistics through App Store Connect. These do not identify you, and you can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, iOS includes lokt's stored data in that backup, under your control and Apple's policies. We have no access to it.
uselokt.com has no forms, sets no cookies, and uses no analytics, advertising pixels or session recording. Two kinds of services still receive basic technical information when you visit:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| [WEB HOST] | Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time | To serve and secure the website |
| Google Fonts and Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry) | Your IP address and browser details when your browser downloads our fonts | To display the website's typefaces |
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed, and on request.
Because lokt has no account and keeps your data only on your iPhone, deleting the lokt app deletes all of it and removes lokt's Screen Time access. There is nothing stored on our side to delete. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask at support@uselokt.com.
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Apart from any emails you send us, we hold none. Email support@uselokt.com with any request and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. If you are in the UK or EU, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
lokt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
App data stays inside iOS's app sandbox and App Group storage, protected by your iPhone's passcode and encryption. Keeping your data off our servers entirely is the strongest protection we can offer.
If we change how lokt handles data (for example, adding accounts, sync or a mailing list), we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
